Experiences to navigate towards your True North,
and to explore the points in between.
Life Design – Planning
Based on the U.S. Stanford University’s ‘Designing Your Life’, this course applies design thinking to navigate towards a life plan and reframes dysfunctional beliefs that surround life and career decisions. Through the adoption of design tenets including bias-for-action, prototyping and team-building, these skills will help answer the question ‘what do I want to do with my life?’
Arts Award/TAFDA – Creative
Managed by the Trinity College, in association with the Arts Council, the Arts Award was developed to support young people who want to explore a creative path. Along with building confidence, resourcefulness and leadership skills, the award prepares students for further education or employment. The Gold level earns 35 UCAS points and is equivalent to an ‘A’ level in England. The Arts Award will be integrated with TAFDA to provide a programme of filmmaking.
Sustainable Living – Environmental Studies
Working in partnership with the Environmental Department of Aberdeen University we provide a year-long Sustainable Living programme. The five modules will cover Shelter, Food, Health & Wellbeing and Energy. This programme will culminate with a certificate from the University of Aberdeen.
Entrepreneurial Skills – Business
Participants will take part in the Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) programme, becoming owners and directors of a Company House registered business. The programme provides real-world experience in all aspects of launching and managing a business, from initial product development to marketing and finance. Participants will then undertake a business exam, based on the progress of their business, through the Strathclyde University Business School.
Crest Award – Science
The British Science Association has long believed that the best way to inspire young people in science is for them to have the chance to try it for themselves. Rather than see science as just a collection of facts and equations, their flagship education programme, the CREST Awards, recognises and rewards young peoples’ own investigations in STEM.
Liberal Arts – An Introduction
